THE VENUE

The National Portrait Gallery (NPG) is a dramatic and culturally rich venue perfect for your next event. The gallery’s elegant building has the greatest respect for the local environment, natural light and human proportions. The Gallery features flexible event spaces which can cater to any style of event, including breakfasts, seminars, conferences, workshops, launches, meetings, cocktail receptions, seated dinners and wedding ceremonies and receptions. Portrait Café

Located at the National Portrait Gallery, the Portrait Café is the perfect spot for a relaxed coffee, weekend brunch or weekday lunch with friends. Unwind with a locally brewed beer or homemade iced chai overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, the High Court & Reconciliation Place.

So many of our guests complimented the service provided by your staff on the night – that they were always on hand to top up a drink or respond to a request. Many said the food was excellent, the lighting and space was fantastic, and that they truly had a wonderful time (which really pleases us as well). Ian and I felt exactly the same – anything we needed or wanted was looked after, the food and wine were delicious, and we really had the best time.

We were so proud of the event, and everybody who attended had a pretty bloody good time – The food and service both copped the most praise from our family and friends. People loved the pork buns and the risotto – these were the most regularly occurring favorites. The setup was great, particularly given the very little assistance we provided. So thank you to you and your team for making it happen! Security and other staff were all very helpful and professional also. Finally, thanks for being so responsive on the day! And for doing us such an incredibly generous cost for the event. We will be forever grateful.

Many of our team are born & bred from within the Canberra region. As a result we are passionate about supporting local farmers & produce suppliers from in and around Canberra.
